What is Juneteenth?
Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865—the day enslaved people in Galveston, Texas learned they were free. This pivotal moment, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, represents the true beginning of freedom for millions of African Americans.
From a historical commemoration to a celebration of Black culture, pride, and resilience, Juneteenth has evolved into a powerful expression of liberation and community. Today, it honors the journey from bondage to freedom while celebrating the strength, creativity, and contributions of Black people.
Cultural Celebration
A time for families to gather, celebrate Black history, and honor cultural pride through festivals, performances, and community events.
Educational Opportunity

Community Building

At Juneteenth Flag Collective, we believe Juneteenth is more than a date—it's a movement. It's about honoring freedom, celebrating our heritage, and building a more just and inclusive community together.
